ROI reporting, for an AI receptionist or assistant, is measuring what it actually produced — calls answered, leads captured, deals closed — against what it cost, rather than relying on adoption metrics like message volume alone.

A dashboard showing “1,200 messages handled this month” answers whether the system is being used, not whether it’s paying for itself. The more useful question is what happened to the calls and messages it touched — how many turned into a booked appointment or a closed sale — set against the platform and usage cost for the same period.

This is also where a business finds out whether a channel is worth keeping running at all: a channel with high volume and low conversion is a cost centre wearing an engagement metric.

See what gets measured, on the impact insights page.
