Cost Per Call
Cost per call is the total spend on a phone channel — telephony, minutes and any platform fee — divided by the number of calls it handles, and it's the number that actually decides whether an AI phone agent is cheaper than the alternative, not the headline monthly price.

Two vendors can quote the same monthly fee and land in very different places once usage-based minute charges are added, or the same per-minute rate and differ once one bills in whole-minute blocks and the other bills per second. The comparison that holds up is: take an honest estimate of monthly call volume and average call length, and price the same scenario across every vendor being considered — not the number each one leads with.
It’s also comparable against the cost of a missed call in the first place, which is usually the more useful baseline: what a call costs to answer, against what it costs to lose.
