Creating your account

What signing up gets you, what a 14-day trial actually includes, and what to do about the messages you can hit on the way in.

⚠️ Self-serve sign-up is not open yet. This page describes how creating an account works, and every screen in it is real — but the door is switched off in every environment today, so you cannot walk through it on your own. Accounts are created with you: talk to us and we set yours up, usually within a few days. Nothing else on this page changes when the switch flips; the sign-up link simply starts working.

Creating an account gets you into a working dashboard in under a minute — no sales call, no setup fee, no card. It starts a 14-day trial with one assistant, on your website chat widget, so you can find out whether Kooday answers the way you want before anyone asks you to pay for it.

A trial is webchat only. Voice, WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger are not part of it — see What a trial includes below. This is the one thing people expect differently, so it is worth reading before you build anything.

Signing up

Read this as what the flow does, not as something to go and do today — see the note at the top. Open the sign-up link and choose Continue with Google — that is the only way in today; there is no email-and-password option. Once you are signed in:

  1. Name your organisation. This becomes your workspace’s display name and is used to derive its address inside Kooday. 1–120 characters.
  2. Start my trial. You land straight on Bots, with nothing created yet.
  3. Create your first assistant — pick what kind it is and give it a name. See Creating your assistant for the rest of that flow.

If you already have a Kooday account under the same Google identity, signing in takes you straight to your dashboard — there is nothing to create twice.

Voice, WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger are not part of a trial — the Channels card on your assistant shows them locked, the same greyed-out state a brand-new assistant always starts in. See Creating your assistant for what each channel needs once you are ready for it.

When a trial ends

A trial has two limits, and either one can be the one you reach first.

The 14 days. Your assistant stops answering and sign-in stops working — nothing is deleted. Getting an expired trial working again is not something you can do from the dashboard yet; contact us and we bring it back.

The conversations. A conversation is a 24-hour session with one customer, not a single message — so an exchange of ten messages with the same person on the same day is one conversation, not ten. When the allowance runs out your assistant stops replying to new conversations. Your account still works, the dashboard still works, and anything already in your inbox is still there; it is only new replies that stop.

The banner at the top of the dashboard starts showing how many conversations you have left once you are near the end, so this should not arrive as a surprise. If it does, tell us — that is a bug in the warning, not in your account.

Upgrading

The Upgrade link on the trial banner opens Billing, where Your plan lists every plan as a card with a Switch to … button. Picking one shows a preview first — exactly what you would gain and what you would stop having access to — before anything is requested, so there are no surprises after you commit.

Requesting an upgrade does not move your plan by itself: it records your choice and we get in touch to arrange payment, since paying isn’t yet a card-on-file step inside the dashboard. A downgrade that isn’t blocked (for example, by owning more assistants than the smaller plan allows) takes effect on its own, on the date the dialog shows.

Troubleshooting

It says “This account isn’t set up yet. Contact your administrator.”

You are signed in, but self-serve sign-up is not open for this identity. Today that is the answer for everyone — the door is off platform-wide, see the note at the top of this page. It is also what you would see if your login belongs to an existing team as an invited login, in which case sign in instead of signing up, from the same Google account your admin invited. Contact the person who invited you, or contact us.

”That organisation name isn’t available.”

Your name is fine, but the internal id it derives to collides with something reserved (things like admin, support, or a name that reads as impersonating a bank, a courier or a government service). Use your actual registered business name — that resolves almost every case — or contact us.

”That organisation name was just taken.”

Someone else’s sign-up finished a moment before yours and claimed the same derived id. Submit the form again; a fresh attempt derives a new one.

”Your organisation name needs at least one latin letter or digit.”

The id is built from your name’s letters and digits (a–z, 0–9). A name made entirely of other characters — emoji, punctuation, non-Latin script — has nothing to derive from. Add at least one plain letter or number.

”Too many attempts — please wait a moment.”

A brief, per-visitor rate limit on sign-up attempts. Wait a few seconds and try again; it is not a block on your account.

”You already have an account — sign in instead.”

You reached the sign-up form with an identity that already has a workspace. Sign in instead — there is nothing left to create.

”Trials aren’t available right now.”

A temporary condition on our side, not something about your account. Try again shortly; if it persists, contact us.

Self-serve sign-up is not turned on for every account or region yet. Contact us and we will get you started directly.

Still stuck? We answer support mail the same working day.
